In Essaouira we teach children from around six years old, depending on their size, confidence and swimming ability. At that age they can usually carry a small board with help, understand simple safety rules and listen to instructions on the sand. For younger kids we sometimes run “taster” sessions right at the water’s edge with parents holding the board.
As children grow, we adapt board size, depth and expectations. The goal is always to keep things fun and safe. No child is pushed further than they want to go. With the soft sand and gentle waves of the bay, our Essaouira Surf School is a perfect place for first ocean memories.
