Essaouira as a kitesurf spot
The Wind City gets trade winds mainly from April to October, with rideable days outside that window.
- Side-shore / side-on wind — you track along the beach instead of being blown offshore. The bay pushes you back toward the sand.
- Room to launch — a long sandy beach to launch and land.
- More than one playground — flat water and chop in the bay, waves toward Sidi Kaouki or Moulay Bouzerktoun when your level is ready.

The school: safety, coaching, IKO
- IKO instructors — the pace matches you, from a first time in the water to a first loop.
- A clear path — kite on the sand, bodydrag, waterstart, first reaches.
- Small groups — semi-private (2 students) or private. No large groups.
Intensive progression pack
The useful booking is a block of hours, not a single random slot.
- From first flight to waterstart, or from cruising to jumps, depending on your level.
- Gear included: kite, bar, harness, wetsuit, helmet and vest.
- Small groups or a private lesson.
- If the wind is not safe, the session is moved or switched to surf or wingfoil. Only hours actually taught are charged.
- Lockers during the lesson, and storage if you bring your own gear.
Current prices (group lessons from €55 for 2 hours, plus 6 h, 8 h, 10 h and 12 h packs) are on the kitesurf lessons Essaouira page. Book via the contact form or WhatsApp +212 7 10 61 35 70. Spots per instructor are limited each day.

FAQ
What do I need before I start?
You must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. The harness carries the pull — this is not an arm-strength sport.
How long until I ride on my own?
Plan on 6 to 10 hours to ride and start going upwind. With steady wind, many students get first reaches inside a 3-day block. Weather and level change the pace.
Should I book ahead?
Yes. Students per instructor are capped. Writing before you travel holds the slot.
What if there is no wind?
The session is postponed, or offered as surf or wingfoil if the sea allows. Hours that are not taught are not charged.
