Flights and connections from Europe
Most European cities connect to Marrakech (RAK) year-round; from there it is about 2.5–3 hours by road to Essaouira. Seasonal or charter options may serve Essaouira (ESU) closer to the beach. From Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid or Berlin, plan arrival day for rest or a light afternoon stroll, then book a calm morning surf lesson once you reach Wind City.
Why Europeans book Essaouira
Essaouira is closer and milder than many southern Morocco point breaks for first trips: sandy beach breaks, UNESCO medina culture, and steady alizé for kite and wing in the afternoon. Lessons from about €30 and camps from about €170 make a week or long weekend realistic for Belgian, French, Spanish, German and UK travellers.
What to book before you fly
Message us with dates, level (beginner to intermediate), and whether you want group lessons, private coaching, or a surf camp package. We confirm gear (board + wetsuit), meeting point on Essaouira Beach, and suggest morning surf vs afternoon kite based on the forecast. See also our Marrakech transfer guide if you land at RAK.
Sample 4–7 day European getaway
Day 1 arrive and settle. Days 2–4 morning surf lessons on the bay. Add one afternoon kite or wing discovery if wind allows. Optional day trip to Sidi Kaouki. Day 5–7 free surf, medina, and departure via ESU or back to Marrakech. Customize with family or private sessions when you book.
